Ever wondered what it’s like to be an independent travel agent? Let me take you through my day. I co-own Inspire Luxe Travel, alongside my full-time job as an Events Manager. I’m also a mum. Life is busy, but the flexibility makes it all work.
6:00 AM – A Productive Start
The alarm goes off. It’s 6:00 AM. This is my favourite time of the day! I join a Zoom call with coaches from our business. They share thier motivational tips related to personal growth and development. Luckily, we don’t need our cameras on as I use this time to exercise. Sometimes I do weights, other times I stretch or do yoga. It’s not about spending hours exercising. Just 20 minutes to feel ready to tackle whatever comes next.
6:20 AM – Time to Focus
I have a coffee, check my emails, and go through any immediate actions. I then make a plan for the day ahead.
This is my focus time. No distractions. Just me and my to-do list.
7:00 AM – Breakfast Chaos
By 7:00, the kids are up, and the morning rush begins. I make breakfast and packed lunches. All the while answering questions about PE kits and forgotten homework. We sit together to eat. These moments matter. After breakfast, I get the kids ready for school. Then I switch gears for work.
08:30 AM – Events Manager Mode
By 08:30 AM, I’m in events manager mode. My full-time job keeps me busy. Meetings, planning, and client calls fill the day.
The skills I use here – organisation, communication, problem-solving – all help with my travel business too. It’s amazing how much overlaps.
1:00 PM – Lunch Break Hustle
Lunch isn’t just for eating. It’s when I check in with Inspire Luxe Travel. I respond to social media messages, post updates, and engage with followers.
5:00 PM – Family Time
After I log off from my events role it’s family time. Dinner, homework, and catching up about our day. We sit, chat and give the pets some fuss!
8:00 PM – The Travel Agent Shift
Once the kids are in bed, I switch gears again. Some nights I go out to my exercise classes or relax at home, other nights, I work on Inspire Luxe Travel.
This is when I plan, learn, and grow. I might create bespoke travel itineraries and quotes, watch training videos, or brainstorm new ideas. The beauty of this business is the freedom. I work when I want, on my terms.
